Midwinter festival 2023

With the Midwinter Festival we go back to basics, with a very pleasant Christmas market in the (Kerst)Balstraat. Conviviality remains at the annual Midwinter Festival, in one of the most authentic places in Bruges: the Sint-Anna district.

At the Christmas market you will find stalls full of craft products, nice trinkets and (Christmas) presents. You can also go there at any time for a tasty snack and a satisfying drink. Travel back to the days of old in the Folklore Museum - which is completely free for all visitors that day - where the youngest can enjoy themselves at the craft tables. The majestic Sint-Janshuis mill can also be visited for free and in the Jerusalem Chapel a guide will tell you more about the secrets of this hidden gem. On the Adornes domain, Het Gruuthuse Huishouden takes you back to the 15th century winters and explains what clothing Adornes's contemporaries used to keep warm.
